TAKS testing gave me a great chance

to read an awesome new book titled You by Charles Benoit. Story takes place in your typical high school, where a boy named Kyle Chase is invisible to most, with thoughts and feelings ignored by many, and parents who don't get it. He has a precious little sister, some loser friends, and a huge crush on a girl who wants to be friends. Daily life is a drag and Kyle bears the brunt of some cruel bullies. A must-read novel for those like Kyle or who know some Kyles. Gripping and compelling-great to recommend to readers who love Gail Giles. Definitely one to pick up- you won't want to put it down.

Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey

Oh, my goodness!! I picked up this book twice to read it and had to put it down. It was so graphic and gory, in my opinion, that I wasn't sure I could get through it. If you like monsters, blood and guts, and the thrill of discovery, then you will love it. The main character, Will Henry, is an orphan taken in by Pellinore Warthrop, a monstrumologist. You can use your Latin to figure out his occupation. The creatures in this novel are Anthropophagi, and they do things to people that are far beyond your worst nightmare!!! Read this one at your own risk, ladies and gents!! I finished it, and was glad I did, but getting to the end of the novel made my stomach hurt more than once.
